Campaign · Sep 30, 2026
Every September 30, we honour the children who never came home from residential schools, the Survivors who carry that truth, and the families and communities still living with what was taken.
This day is not a slogan. It is a call to remember, to listen, and to act – with Indigenous Nations, not over them.
As Mayor, I will:
Deliver
- Make City Hall a partner in reconciliation: honour Indigenous protocols, languages, and histories in civic life and public space
- Support Indigenous-led housing, culture, and community programs with real City partnerships – not one-day statements
- Ensure City staff and agencies are trained to work respectfully with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities
Advocate
- Stand with Survivors and Indigenous leaders for truth, healing, and accountability
- Push senior governments to fund Indigenous-led solutions for housing, health, and child and family well-being
- Keep Toronto’s commitment to reconciliation visible year-round – not only on Orange Shirt Day
Every child matters. Every Survivor matters. Reconciliation is work we do together.
