This website is operated by the campaign of Dr. Bahira Abdulsalam, candidate for Mayor of Toronto in the October 26, 2026 municipal election. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the City of Toronto.

Campaign information only. Content on this site, including the platform, policies and cost estimates, reflects the candidate’s commitments and opinions. It is provided for general information and does not constitute legal, financial, tax or professional advice. Readers should seek qualified advice for their own situation.

Accuracy. We work to keep information accurate and current, but figures, programs and laws change. We make no guarantee that all content is complete, accurate or up to date. Cost estimates are preliminary and will be confirmed with City staff.

Platform commitments. Many commitments require approval by City Council, and some depend on the Province of Ontario or the Government of Canada. Commitments marked as advocacy describe what the candidate will press other governments to do.

Translations. This site is offered in several languages using translation tools. If a translation differs from the English text, the English version applies.

Contributions. Campaign contributions are governed by Ontario’s Municipal Elections Act, 1996. Only individuals normally resident in Ontario may contribute. Corporations and trade unions may not. Contribution limits apply, and receipts are issued as required by law.

Privacy. Personal information you share with the campaign, such as volunteer sign-ups or contributions, is used only for campaign purposes and is not sold or shared with third parties, except as required by law.

Why this website exists

Too often, voters are handed slogans and asked to trust that the details will work out later. This campaign does the opposite. Everything is here, in the open: what I will deliver, what a mayor actually controls, what I will fight Queen’s Park and Ottawa for, and how each commitment is paid for, phase by phase.

I am a structural engineer. Engineers don’t promise a bridge without showing the drawings and the budget. I am holding my own campaign to that same standard, and I am asking you to hold City Hall to it too.

Read the plan by topic. Tap The plan in the menu. There is one page per topic: housing, transit, money, safety, jobs, families, environment and reconciliation. Start with whatever matters most to you.
Check how it is paid for. Tap How we pay, then See the budget. Every commitment is phased, and each phase starts only when its money is in place.
Switch to your language. On the home page, find Read this site in your language and tap your language. The page reloads translated. (Translations are automatic, so a few phrases may read imperfectly.)
Hear it in her own words. Scroll to Bahira in the media on the home page for interviews, and tap News in the menu for the latest statements and op-eds.
